Cafe Paulista is Tokyo's longest running cafe, in business since 1911 (though the building has been redone), and has seen decades' worth of celebrity customers, from author Akutagawa Ryūnosuke (1892–1927) to John Lennon (1940-80). Coffee from ¥680; come before 11.30am for a breakfast set of toast, juice and coffee (¥700).
