Cafe de l'Ambre

Ginza & Tsukiji

The sign over the door here reads 'Coffee Only' but, oh, what a selection. Local legend Sekiguchi Ichirō started the business in 1948, sourcing aged beans from all over the world and roasting them in-house long before it was trendy (and did so daily until he passed away at the age of 103 in 2018). A whole generation of cafe owners have trained here.

The atmosphere hasn't changed one bit: wood-paneled walls, pedastal tables and dainty coffee cups with saucers.
