In this beautiful old thatched building, diners sit on the floor around traditional irori charcoal pits grilling their own meals – skewers of fish, meat, tofu and veggies. From Kawaguchi-ko Station, go west, then bear left (south) after the 7-Eleven; after 600m you'll spot the thatched roof on the west side of the road. Reservations strongly recommended.
Sanrokuen is best suited for groups, though solo diners are welcome.
