Mishima-tei

Downtown Kyoto

Mishima-tei, around since 1873, is a good place to sample sukiyaki (thin slices of beef cooked in sake, soy and vinegar broth, and dipped in raw egg) as the quality of the meat is very high, which is hardly surprising when there is a butcher downstairs. It’s at the intersection of the Sanjō and Teramachi covered arcades.
