Fukuchi-in

Kii Peninsula

Fukuchi-in has two standout features: a communal onsen bath, including a rotemburo (outdoor bath), and a garden designed by famous modernist landscape artist Shigemori Mirei. Upgrade for a room with garden view (and for a little more for a room with a toilet). It's one of Kōya-san's larger shokubō (temple lodgings) and popular with bus tours. Some staff speak English.

The nearest bus stop is Namikiri-fudō-mae.
