Nishimuraya Hotel Shōgetsu-tei

Kansai

A bit far from town and in a rather ordinary building, this modern property is managed by the same family that runs Nishimuraya Honkan and offers a more entry-level luxury experience. The Japanese-style rooms are nicely done up (skip the Western-style ones), with en-suite facilities. Rather large, this is a good bet when other places are full.

There's an option to rent one of the private rotemburo (¥8640 for up to four guests, 70 minutes) that come with large tubs, rock saunas, gorgeous garden views and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
