This modern ryokan by the river in Ryūjin Onsen has beautiful views from its expansive lobby. The main building, which has both Japanese- and Western-style rooms, is the nicest. For meals, choose between a set-course meal and a buffet. Day use of the huge indoor-outdoor baths costs ¥700 (open 11am to 10pm; bring your own towel).
