Kamigoten

Kii Peninsula

In its 29th generation, Kamigoten was built in 1657 for the local lord and member of the Tokugawa family. It's been updated over the years and now feels like a humbly elegant country home, with simple riverside baths, fresh tatami rooms, wooden corridors polished smooth and sprigs of fresh flowers everywhere. Meals, served in the rooms, are beautifully prepared feasts.

For an extra charge, you can stay in Owarnino-ma, Tokugawa's room.
