Pizzeria alla Strega

Venice

This hugely popular pizzeria and cichetteria has been feeding locals for years. Although best known as a pizza parlour, you can also enjoy a wide range of hearty salads and bar snacks: the famous Venetian cicheti. A large platter consists of typical dishes such as baccalà (cod), sarde in saor (grilled sardines in a sweet and sour sauce) and polenta.

The pretty courtyard at the back is highly sought-after in summer, so book ahead.
