Pierino Fagnani ('Bagoga'), one of Siena's most famous Palio jockeys, swapped his saddle for an apron in 1973 and opened this much-loved restaurant. Now operated by his son Francesco, it serves traditional Tuscan palate-pleasers that are lauded by Slow Food Italia (this is one of only two Slow Food–accredited restaurants in the city). The set menus (€25 to €55) offer good value.
When dining here, consider ordering a four-course tipico (€35) or degustazione (€55 with wine) menu; both showcase cucina senese (Sienese cooking).
