Ostello Contessa Ava dei Lambardi

Central Tuscany

Named after the noblewoman who founded Abbadia a Isola in 1001, this hostel welcomes pilgrims walking the Via Francigena and other travellers, too. In the original hospice building, its eight dorms, two private rooms and plentiful bathrooms have been fully renovated. There's a laundry for guest use but no kitchen or dining facilities (a pizzeria, restaurant and bar are nearby).

The hostel is open year-round; advanced bookings via email or the hostel's Facebook page (@ostellocontessaava) are recommended in summer and essential at other times.
