Castello delle Serre

The prospect of spending the night in this fabulous medieval castle in a slightly out-of-the-way location on the very edge of the Chianti Senese makes a dedicated trip well worth the effort. Meticulously restored by the Italian-American Gangale family, it features huge rooms (book a suite if possible), a swish pool area and magnificent views. Monte Oliveto Maggiore is nearby.
