This place would be worth a visit for the decor alone; it's a wonderful series of dark-wooded rooms strewn with moody mountain paintings and Alpine curios. The food here is excellent, if seriously rich – cheese and truffle millefeuille, polenta dumplings with venison ragù, rhododendron honey-glazed duck in citrus sauce, and a homemade apple strudel with Bourbon vanilla gelato.
