Slip off the Lalongia slopes into the warren of cosy wood-panelled rooms at this painstakingly restored 17th-century baita (mountain cabin), and settle in for some of Val Gardena's finest Alpine fare, from spectacular crafuncins (rye pasta pockets stuffed with spinach and ricotta) to delicious apple strudel. Prices are high-end for a slope-side hut, but quality and views are both exceptional.
