There's a clockwork efficiency about Cristallo that isn't always present in tourist-heavy lakeside cafes in Italy. Plying ice cream since 1892, the 60 flavours of artisanal gelato are what the cafe is most famous for. But it's also a fine place to digest well-crafted economical pastas, pizzas and piadine (Italian flat-bread sandwiches) with prices that rarely sail north of €10.
And let's not forget the courteous but mega-efficient staff that never seem to get flustered despite the cafe's perennial popularity.
