Macelleria Popolare

Milan

Inside the Mercato Comunale you’ll find the aptly named ‘Popular Butcher’ selling high-quality cuts from animals grazed in pasture. But that’s not the only reason to drop by: people queue for the quality street food on offer, which emphasises Italian specialities such as lampredotto (cow stomach) and mondeghili (Milanese meatballs). Also serves wine by the glass.

It’s a branch of Mangiari di Strada, a popular street-food eatery in the western outskirts of Milan.
