Antico Mercato

Near the harbour is Syracuse’s produce market, a sea of red-canopied stalls bursting with fresh mussels, oysters, octopus and shellfish. You'll also find just-baked bread, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and crates filled with everything from pistachios and capers, to sun-dried tomatoes, herbs and spices – in short, all the ingredients for a DIY Sicilian feast.
