Retroscena

Syracuse

After running a restaurant in Greece for 18 years, Syracuse local Fabio and his Greek partner Kiri are pleasing palates at their hotspot Ortygia restaurant. Vintage mirrors, midcentury lighting and velvet in shades of blue and dusty pink set a fashionable scene for creative, rotating options like trofie pasta with pesto, ricotta, sun-dried tomatoes and crispy zucchini ribbons, or mandarin-and-honey glazed prawns.

Fabio only uses fresh fish and the all-Sicilian wine list includes some stellar smaller producers. In the warmer months, reserve a table in the courtyard.
