At the foot of the Madonie, only 7km from the A19, owners Fabiola and Giancorrado have converted this 300-hectare fattoria (fortified country estate) into an agriturismo producing organic olives, grain, beef and wine. Rooms are simple (no air-con, no TV), encouraging guests to appreciate the divine setting: rolling hills and ancient trees planted with the dowry money of Giancorrado's grandmother.
Meals featuring local produce are served downstairs in a large dining room with vaulted ceilings. In late summer they make homemade tomato sauce in a giant copper cauldron.
