Housed in a converted 16th-century monastery, Cagliari's official HI hostel has oodles of historic charm and original features such as vaulting and beams. Its dorms, doubles and family rooms are fairly spartan, but all come with en-suite bathrooms and they're spacious and well kept. Outside, there's a popular courtyard bar.
