Pasticceria Regoli

Monti, Esquilino & San Lorenzo

At weekends a queue marks the entrance to this elegant chandelier-lit pasticceria, much-loved since 1916. Its crostate (latticed jam tarts) are iconic, as are its berry-topped crostatine fragoline di bosco. Take a number from the machine next to the register, order when it's called and then pay.

A maritozzi con panna (sweet bread bun filled to bursting with whipped cream) is the downright wicked speciality to order in the next-door cafe, which also serves good coffee.
