The Church

Top choice in Naples

On the 4th floor of an anecdote-rich 16th-century palazzo, this intimate, cultured B&B is decorated with contemporary Neapolitan photography and cleverly upcycled objects, from coffee percolators turned plant pots to an African tek tree turned bookshelf. The four minimalist rooms are equally whimsical; the top-floor room is the most coveted and comes with a striking in-room shower and private terrace.

The property also offers a wonderful communal terrace looking out at surrounding palazzi and the roof of an adjoining church. Wi-fi is speedy and the worldly owners are a font of knowledge about the city and its cultural scene.

Interestingly, the old printers' drawers turned tabletops come from the building's historic printer Arte Tipografica Angelo Rossi. The printer's numerous claims to fame include being the first to publish Pablo Neruda's book Los versos del cápitan in 1952, during the Chilean writer's period of exile.
