While Marise proclaims itself to be but a simple trattoria, there's a moody elegance to the grey-toned walls and marble-topped tables and a sophisticated approach to the Carso and Collio wines it serves. The menu remains, however, refreshingly simple, with standards like tuna or beef tartare, baccalà mantecato (creamed salt cod and potatoes) or grilled prawns and comforting chocolate desserts.
