The big personality behind the now-closed rock-and-roll craft-beer bar Maltomania is one of the partners behind Modena's newest and best destinations for birra artigianale. Part brewpub, part rustic-chic contemporary restaurant (a beerstró!), the 10 taps (two hand pumps) focus on Belgian and Italian sour and funk but always offer well-rounded selections, including a house-brewed ESB, a session IPA and/or porter.
As the evening wears on, sophisticated pub grub (meals €28 to €33) with international flair (Wednesday is ramen night) is served amid exposed air ducts, select antiques and suspended copper cookware. It's proudly anti-tradizionale!
