Canalgrande Hotel

Modena

Though not as elegant as its former life as a palace and monastery dating to 1530 suggest, there is a pleasant air of aged European elegance at Canalgrande that strikes the right balance between history, location, value and friendliness. Original 17th- and 18th-century canvases pepper the lobby halls, while rooms are well-equipped, including kettles added by new owners.

A pleasant back garden and terrace frame the striking contrast of the more modern terracotta building with the original monastery structure. It's 450m southeast of the duomo.
