Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti

Modena

It will come as no surprise that the birthplace of Pavarotti has a decent opera house. The Comunale opened in 1841 and has 900 seats and 112 boxes. Following the death of the city's exalted native son in September 2007, it was renamed in his honour. Outside the theatre, a life-sized bronze statute of Pavarotti was erected in 2017 (at the corner of Via Carlo Goldoni and Corso Canal Grande).

Tours, arranged via the tourist office, are expected to be up and running by the end of 2019 – check ahead.
