It's overpriced at the high end, but other times of year this family-run, three-star superior hotel is a real gem, mainly for its panoramic terrace, which affords extraordinary city views to Torre degli Asinelli, San Luca and San Domenico churches. Rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors offer some subtly city-themed spaces marrying modern wall-mounted flat-screen TVs with rustic working desks.
Meanwhile, slightly older 4th-floor rooms come with wonderful terraces. Breakfast gets the balance of sweet and savoury just right and there's a pleasant lounge dedicated to late Bolognese singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla.
