This idyllic Alpine hut sits in a meadow encircled by a crown of high peaks. In summer, guests lounge on the lawn with the cow, then retire to the terrace for bowls of canederli (dumplings) and glasses of bilberry-flavoured grappa. Three rustic-chic bedrooms with smart modern bathrooms and stunning views are also available for the lucky few who book ahead.
The refuge is located 5km southwest of Cortina d’Ampezzo. From here a network of trails leads to high-altitude lakes, the open-air WWI museum, climbing walls and ski slopes.
