A restaurant of artists, art and artistry, Caravella once hosted Andy Warhol. No surprise that it doubles up as a de-facto gallery with frescoes, creative canvases and a ceramics collection. And then there's the food on the seven-course tasting menu, prepared by some of the finest culinary Caravaggios in Italy.
Despite its fame, Michelin-starred Caravella, in business since 1959, remains an unpretentious and discreet place that's true to its seafood roots.
Not to be missed are the anchovy croquettes, fish with fennel and sun-dried tomatoes and – the Mona Lisa on the menu – a fine lemon soufflé. The wine list is, arguably, the best on the Amalfi Coast. Reservations essential.
