Occupying handsome arched chambers that have been used as an inn or wine shop for centuries, the restaurant of La Locanda di Gino calls on molta experienza. Proudly advertising the provenance of its produce (red garlic of Sulmona, lentils from Santo Stefano di Sessanio, saffron from an Abruzzese collective), the menu is a paean to the best of Abruzzo.
The chargrilled lamb and carrati (handmade pasta) with zucchini flowers and saffron are both outstanding, and it would be rude not to mention the baked almond custard for dessert.
