This gourmet cafe and deli 3.5km east of Kells is a tiny tour de force of locally produced cheeses (including its own), cured meats, smoked fish, salads and much more. Assemble a picnic, or get a table indoors or in the sunny courtyard for an all-day breakfast or lunch of sandwiches, wraps, toasties and specials such as beef and Guinness pie.

It also runs four-hour cheese-making courses (€90 including lunch) and sells cheese-making kits.
