Cronin's Yard

Gap of Dunloe

Cronin's Yard is the traditional access point for hillwalkers heading for Carrauntoohil. There's a car park (€2), tearoom, showers and toilets, a free basic campsite and a few camping pods. It's at the road's end (OS ref 836873), reached from the N72 west of Killarney; the Killarney Shuttle Bus runs here twice daily. Packed lunches available on request.

If you're driving, follow signs for the Gap of Dunloe at first, but after 4km keep straight on where the Gap is signposted left. After another 4km you'll reach Kissane Foodstore and petrol station; 50m further on, over the bridge, Cronin's is signposted on the left (a further 3km from Kissane).
