Gleeson's Restaurant & Artisan Food & Wine Shop

The Midlands

Local grass-fed lamb is the speciality of Gleeson's elegant restaurant, particularly the stew with rosemary and thyme. Its more casual cafe serves full Irish breakfasts, porridge and pancakes, followed by lunch dishes like black pudding and organic beetroot salad, seafood chowder, and chargrilled steak sandwiches with caramelised onion and blue cheese.

Kids get an activity-sheet menu featuring dishes (€6.50 to €8.50) like mini beef burgers.

The shop has an array of sweet and savoury pastries, premade salads, cured meats and cheeses, as well as wines, that are ideal to take for a picnic during your explorations of the county's ancient sites.
