Hungry Moose

Kilkenny City

Winner of Ireland's Best Burger 2018 for its house-speciality Hungry Moose (smoked bacon, dill pickles, aged Canadian Moose cheddar and beer-battered onion rings), this Kilkenny hotspot has another seven beef varieties as well as fish, veggie and vegan burgers, all served with chunky, skinny or curly fries. Reclaimed timbers kit out the stripped-back dining space (no takeaways).

Sides include corn on the cob with chilli-infused butter, kimchi slaw and fried jalapeño poppers; craft beers come from around the country and as far afield as Hawaii.

Kids burgers can be made to order.
