Built in 1873 for the superintendent of the transatlantic telegraph cable between Valentia and Newfoundland, this historic house has a blazing open fire and six lovingly restored rooms rich in period atmosphere – some with sea views – and modern comforts that include superb gourmet breakfasts and a sauna. Packed lunches can be arranged, as well as saunas and seaweed baths.
Produce for breakfast comes from its own gardens, with eggs supplied by its chickens. One- and two-bedroom self-catering cottages (€375/450 per week) are located on the property.
