West End Bar & Bistro

Tralee

'Fresh or nothing' is the motto of this local icon in the village of Fenit, 13km west of Tralee. The fifth-generation bar serves a mouth-watering line-up of seafood, including Tralee Bay prawn cocktail and Kerry Head scallop mornay, plus plenty of locally sourced meat dishes. Upstairs it has simple but comfortable rooms (doubles from €80 including breakfast).

Fenit's Irish name, An Fhianait, translates as 'the Wild Place', in reference to its exposed position on the Atlantic.
