Overlooking the river, Listowel's principal hotel is a family-run affair in a Georgian building that balances grandeur with country charm, with 42 antique-furnished rooms. Nonguests are welcome at its Writers Bar, which often has music in summer, and Georgian Restaurant (three-course dinner €35, open 6pm to 9pm), which specialises in the fresh fish of the day.
