Barrtrá Seafood Restaurant

Top choice in County Clare

The kitchen gardens surrounding this whitewashed country cottage provide ingredients for exquisite dishes such as fennel-stuffed plaice with shellfish bisque. Views over the pastures to the sea unfold from the beautiful glass conservatory dining room. Its five-course surprise menu (€50; vegetarian €45) is a fantastic feast. Barrtrá is also open for lunch (12.30pm to 4.30pm) daily in July and August.

It's some 5km south of Lahinch.
