What started as a Facebook forum for helping travellers in Iran has blossomed into Tehran's first fully-legit hostel. Run by a clued-up, youthful and open-minded team, this place was just opening up when we were in town, but already looks fantastic, with charmingly decorated rooms and super-comfy beds.
There's a cafe, a gift shop (stocking colourful craft products made by mehr-o-mah.com, an NGO helping women and children in poverty) and a spacious garden shaded by trees. In the works are a movie screening room in the former swimming pool and a rooftop garden to grow some food. Check the website for news of regular cultural and social events.
