The Inna Bali has simple gardens, a huge banyan tree and a certain nostalgic charm; it dates from 1927 and was once the main tourist hotel on the island. Room interiors are standard, but many have deeply shaded verandahs. Ongoing renovations have added an attractive colonial facade, including a decent sidewalk cafe.
The hotel is a good base for the Ngrupuk parades that take place the day before the Nyepi festival, as they pass in front. Get the veteran employees talking – they have many stories.
