This 1855 British bungalow has an edge over many of its peers. The cosy cottage features garden-fresh flowers, four-poster beds, working fireplaces and antique-lined lounges. The more expensive rooms are spacious and dramatic, while cheaper ones have less character and are perhaps showing wear around the edges. The cute restaurant serves good multicuisine food. Management is informal yet efficient.
