Tranquil Retreat has Sonamarg's most fashion-conscious decor along with thick box-spring mattresses, glass-panelled walk-in showers, in-room kettles and squiggles of contemporary art. However, it is increasingly hemmed in by other hotel building sites with little in the way of views, and is overpriced.
