Mé:Po Okum

Assam

Nine basic but decent semitraditional cottages ranged around a grassy, tree-girt space on the edge of a Mishing tribal village, Mé:Po Okum (Happy Home) is one of Majuli’s best overnight options. You can order a tasty local dinner (₹550) that includes chicken cooked inside bamboo and two Mishing fish dishes. It's about 1.5km north of the middle of Garamur.

Also on the property is a children's library that helps foster the Mishing folk heritage through kids' activities such as storytelling, music, dance and sports.
