Khajuraho

Popular with tour groups, this mock maharaja palace complete with twinkling neon-lit fountains and an excess of latticed windows, temple carvings and – strangely – Greek nymphs, has suitably palatial-sized rooms with all the mod cons and quality bedding. It's all very comfortable if a bit fake feeling.
