Superb, well-priced hotel that's just 200m from Khatia gate, Chandan has modernish rooms set around a courtyard garden, and the eight-bed dorm is the area's best budget bet. The friendly owner is a smooth guy with four of his own 4WDs and two resident naturalists for safaris, and he can put travellers together to share safari costs.
A new street-side restaurant (open to all) and more luxurious rooms were under construction at the time of research.
