Sunshine Guesthouse

Manali

Authentically colonial without undue luxury, the Sunshine is set in delightfully peaceful, layered lawns off Club House Rd. Four large suites are in the original 1921 wood-and-stone building, with polished walnut-and-pine floors and modernised bathrooms. Four spacious doubles are in a similarly styled if slightly less venerable building next door, all with views straight up the valley.

It's still owned by the grandson of the original owner.
