Nilambag Palace Restaurant

Gujarat & Diu

With a stunningly large and royal dining room, complete with old portraits and a stuffed tiger head, this is by far the city's best restaurant. It's particularly atmospheric at night, when the palace-garden seating area is lit with tiny fairy lights. Dishes lean towards North Indian, with plenty of nonveg options and a succulent chicken kebab.

If you're not a guest of the hotel it's wise to call ahead to reserve for dinner.
