Emstrur

The South

Emstrur has 60 beds divided across three huts. There are two showers (500kr for five minutes of hot water), toilets and a gas stove. There are no garbage facilities or power outlets. Although it’s located under the glacier, the other huts have a more striking position along the trail. Note that mobile-phone reception is particularly spotty here.

Jeeps may be able to negotiate the dirt road to this hut (which leads off Emstruleið/F261) during summer.
