Hrauneyjar Highland Centre

The South

This simple hotel-restaurant complex is the last outpost (and last petrol) before heading into the Highlands. Rooms are austere for the high prices, but it's in the middle of nowhere, so you're lucky to get anything! There's a restaurant (open to day visitors too) with a salad bar and mains (1400kr to 2400kr) including burgers and sandwiches all day.

Tea, coffee, cake and hot waffles are also available in the restaurant (11am to 9pm).
