Budapest Operetta

This theatre presents operettas, which are always a riot, especially campy ones like The Gypsy Princess by Imre Kálmán or Ferenc Lehár’s The Merry Widow, with their over-the-top staging and costumes. Think baroque Gilbert and Sullivan – and then some. There’s an interesting bronze statue of Kálmán outside the main entrance.
